One of the things I found fascinating about northern Ireland was the way the 'mountains' tended to sweep up out of the ground toward the north and then end in jagged cliffs. I suppose if I imagine a glacier sweeping down over the north Atlantic into the land... but I don't really know what formed the land this way. I just know that as 'mountains' go, they seemed to be little more than rocky hills.
